This temple is similar to the Chitragupta temple in plan and evelation. It is like a simple cross with no mandapa nor a circumambulatory passage. The mahamandapa too, has only one pair of transepts. The vertical arrangement is the same is in other temples. The anga shikhars, the subsidiary turrets, cluster around the body of the main shikhar. In size the temple is 22 m by 12.5 m (73 ft. by 42 ft.).
There has been lots of comments and criticism regarding the erotic sculptures carved on the walls of this temple. Mr. Cameron has characterized it as the temple "dedicated to the arts of love". This may not be true because the "loose loves' representing" the scenes of he sports of the Gods", are confined mainly to the third, the highest band of carving. The two central rows on the walls where the major sculptures, contain varying aspects of Vishnu.
